Friday 13th

Normally each we always have 1 Friday the 13TH however this year we have 3: January 13TH, April 13TH, & July 13TH. The calendar falls deadly this year as the folklore goes! There will be 2 Friday the 13TH's in 2013 (September & December), 1 in 2014 (June), then 3 once again in 2015 (February, March & November), after all that, there will not be another year with 3 again until the year 2026! Oh & did you know that psychiatrists even have a name for the condition of intense fear for the number 13, which is called Triskaidekaphobia! Crazy right? I thought so... Oh & a new fact I learned is that 3:33am is the most haunted time of Friday the 13TH! So neat to know....

By no means am I afraid of everything  to do with the number 13 however, to be completely honest I do not like Friday 13TH purely because they are crazy, insane, creepy days! Something always happens when these days comes up.... I mean some even say that sweet little black kitty cats are a bad omen however, several own one & survive the night :) 

Some funny superstitions that I have heard are:

1. Never change your bed linens on Friday because it gives you nightmares & bad dreams

2. Never get married on a Friday & expect the marriage to be good & healthy

3. Ships that sail on this day will forever have bad luck

4. Cut your nails on this day & only sorrow occurs

5. Oh & this one really tops the cake I did not know that  most cities do not have a 13TH street or avenue, highways do not have a 13TH exit, airports do not have a13TH gate,  & hospitals do not have a room number that is 13 & in some cases do not have a 13TH floor either!

YAY is my vote! I love when they wear sandals I think its cute to be very honest :) & by sandals i mean things your toes go between not velcro things you just slip into those are a huge nay! I would be freaked out then...

2. What song do you love but are embarrassed to admit?

I'm Elmo & I Know It I love, it is a version of I'm Sexy & I Know It. Kinda funny for a song choice right but ugh its so cute! I am even bad enough that when I hear sexy & I know it I always sing the elmo version instead I cannot help it :) Don't judge...

3. What summer camp should they make for moms?

A nice calming place, where we get massages all day, drinks handed to us. I mean goodness I think my list could go on & on literally...

4. What is the most romantic song?

Hmm! I would truly have to think on that one & even then I am sure it would be more then one!

5. Do you have an embarrassing pregnancy story?

Dear Rain & Stormy weather... You are very much needed. Our land is very dry every where. Oh & I like you only because you help me sleep like a small tiny baby for several hours! You are so calming...

Dear Baby Cows.. I was so looking forward to getting to feed you all today however since its raining & storming that is not gonna happen. I will wait until next week sometime when I can feed you all in dry weather, when its not so messy! I will let the boys feed you today :) Then laugh at them for being all messy...

Dear Magic Mike... You was a great movie however I still hate your ending! You sucked on that part, big let down :( However you picked great actors to be in your movie Channing & Matthew :)

Dear Aunt Joyce... Last night was so much fun! I loved it as always. I love niece & aunt time always. I love you!

Dear Friday 13th... I may not like you today in general however you was the last day for my work week! I now have 4 days off yay however sadly after those 4 days its back to work for 10 :(

Dear Drive Back To Georgia... Please be kind to me Sunday, I would like you to go smoothly. I know you are only a 2 hour drive but still a lot can happen in two hours lets just be honest :) K thanks!

I'm Loving:

1. That Chris is letting me come down to the farm Friday & help him feed the baby cows bottles! I cannot wait, I am beyond excited & even though I cannot post pictures just yet get ready I will be doing just that come either Friday night or Saturday of the feeding time with the cute little baby cows :)

2. That Monday Jason Aldean's new CD is coming out! It is called Take A Little Ride. I have been on edge waiting it seems to be taking forever! You can bet on one thing as soon as monday gets here that CD will be all mine :)

3. Reed turns 21 Sunday! That will be a fun night in Georgia downtown! Someone is gonna be plastered cough cough Reed. PS I miss being 21, 23 seems so old now & in September I turn 24 & that really seems old ugh :(

4. That their is only 7 more Saturday's until football begins again! I cannot wait... I so need to start planning all my cute little outfits to wear :)

Alright ladies get down to the nitty gritty of what I am saying so what to today... Its not a very long list but its still a list never the less! Enjoy :)

So what... that I am more then loving this rain we got today :) & currently its still raining!

So what... that I did not want to get out of bed this morning. As from my above statement it was raining & I always sleep best when it rains & comes thunderstorms outside! 

So what... that I did not wanna go to work & instead wanna stay curled up in nook reading a good book or watching a sweet romantic movie in this weather!

So what.. that I have been craving seafood! I love it :) ps here are some of the yummy seafood that I love so much , lobster, crab, & shrimp.

Banana Bread Nut Bars with Brown Butter Icing

Banana Bread Nut Bars with Brown Butter Icing

Bar Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup sour cream

1/2  cup unsalted butter softened

2 eggs

4 ripe bananas mashed

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cup all purpose flour

11 tsp baking soda

3/4 tsp salt

1/2-1 cup chopped walnuts

**A Few Secrets**

If you use self rising flour instead of all purpose you do not have to use baking soda & when you mash the bananas up its ten times easier to use a grinder it makes it so much easier on you i promise :) hope this helps! 

Brown Butter Icing

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 cups powdered sugar 

1 tsp vanilla extract 

1 1/2 tbsp milk

** A Few Secrets**

You do not have to use the icing it taste good both with & without! I normally do half & half because some like the icing & some do not! Also i have cut the icing ingredients in half because when I first made it I learned that the original amount was just too much & even the one now is a little much! You will also want to keep an eye on the butter when you are cooking it! I will explain that down below in the directions :) Hope this helps!

Directions

1. Heat oven to 375

2. Grease & flour 15*10 in pan

3. For the bars in a large bowl beat together sugar, sour cream, butter & eggs until creamy. Blend in bananas & vanilla extract. Add flour, baking soda & salt then blend. Stir in walnuts after.

4. Spread batter evenly into pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Stick a toothpick in, if it comes out clean then its cooked & you can take it out to cool.

5. Meanwhile for frosting heat butter in large saucepan over medium heat until boiling. Then remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, & milk. Whisk together until smooth.

6. Once the icing is finished & the bars are finished, take a spatula & spread the icing over the bars.

**A Few Secrets**

Remember if you used self rising flour you do not have to use baking soda (quick reminder) & for the icing it should be thicker then a glaze but thinner then a frosting. & a little thing I learned was that its easier to spread over the bars when the bars are still warm verses cooled.

Ladies I hope you all love this as much as do! I hardly share recipes on here because I feel as though they will never be used but I am sure some of you do love them. Weekend Update (late)

I normally would link up with Sami over at Sami's Shenanigans however I am day late which is better then all my Friday ones which happen to be 4 days late hmm! leave it too me hehe.

Ok so lets begin by saying my weekend was boring to most because all i did was work 2:12 hr shifts however to me it was far from boring. The life of a nurse is anything but boring to be honest, its crazy, insane & so much more don't get me wrong we do have some great quiet moments however they are few & far between! On a fun note even as tired as I was I went & watched some of my boys race on Saturday which was super fun as always :-)

Dear Chiggers... You are so beyond mean to me, you gave me two spots on the back of my left knee & you make me itch you constantly. Please go away I hate you! I will never be so happy to see you gone once & for all.

Dear Hunger Games, Catching Fire, & Mockingjay... You was three amazing books, it only took me 7 days to read you all & now that I have finished I am sad... I need more so please make your writer who wrote you write more so I can content my happiness once again :) 

Dear Hunger Games... You was a great movie lets hope Catching Fire & Mockingjay will be just as good as you was however after reading you all I know you will be :) Now please hurry up & come out thanks!
